Hello,

Thought I'd drop you a line and give you an update about what's been going on in my life...

Just 8 days after starting my new job a flash flood hit in our county. On the morning of June 29th, 2013 we woke to 4 feet of water in our basement. Devastated by the destruction and lack of space to relocate my basement studio, we placed what was left of my studio and personal belongings still in boxes from our move into storage and that's where it's been since.

My job in the dental office has been great, but I've been longing to get back to beadmaking. Over the last few weeks I've been busy, once again, setting up my studio. Oh, I can't wait!

Jordan is now 16 and has his driver's permit. I know, right?! When I started making beads back in 2003 he was in kindergarten and Madison a newborn. Well, she's 11 now and in the 6th grade. Jordan is a Junior and is on the High School football team and Madison just started playing girl's ice hockey. We actually just returned from our first away game in CT this past weekend and the girls' won both of their games against the Falcons. Yay! Way to Go Bobcats!!!

After moving to Central New York 4 years ago, this California girl has finally adjusted. It's been a long road filled with tears and regrets, which I've come to terms with. We lost my father-in-law to prostate cancer last December. That was a rough road as well and will continue to be. John was a wonderful man and is truly missed. <3 you dad.

Last winter was really, really tough so we purchased a camper this past spring and camped our little hearts out all summer long. We live in such a beautiful area less than an hour from the Adirondack Mountains where we experience all 4 seasons, which we didn't have in California. I have a growing appreciation for this area and am finally enjoying it. Hold on, wait a minute. Ask me again in January...lol :)

It took Dwayne 3 years to land a great job. It's been a rough road for us since our move. Most of us are in the same boat. Times are tough and it ain't easy.

My studio space will be ready, fingers crossed, this weekend so look forward to beads rolling out soon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Schools out for Summer!

Madison is doing the happy dance, but Jordan on the other hand has Summer School. What am I going to do with that boy?! His teachers tell me he's a good kid, very polite, but he's just not into turning in his work. UGH! I can harp at him until I'm blue in the face. Been there. Done that. Doesn't work. He'll just have to learn on his own by going to Summer School.

I start my new job Monday. Got the call yesterday. Woo Hoo! Dental billing & collections Monday through Thursday 30 hours a week, part time. I have 17 years of medical experience but this is the first time I've worked in a dental office. So exciting!

Six auction sets are scheduled to begin at and after 2:00 PM, PDT. They're spaced out so they don't all end at the same time. So be sure to check them all out. And that will be all I have for awhile until I'm settled at work.

It's a beautiful, sunny Saturday!

Hello and happy Father's Day weekend, and what a beautiful one it is. Finally!
All we've had is rain, rain, rain so I'm thanking the sun gods today. Hopefully
it'll be this nice tomorrow because I booked an Erie Canal cruise for Dwayne for
Father's day. Madison learned about the Erie Canal in school this year and is
very excited about taking dad.

Have a super Saturday!

About Me

My photo
Clinton, New York, United States
Welcome to my blog page and thank you so much for stopping by! I'm Krissy Dery mother of three and lampwork artist. I was born and raised in Southern California but moved to Central New York May, 2010 with my loving husband. Creating beads allows me the incredible opportunity to be home with my children for which I'm truly grateful. My glass beads are made by me and me alone at my home studio in historic Clinton, NY. I pride my self on my attention to detail. I love making beads and hope you can see that in each and every bead I create. I use many types of glass: Effetre/Moretti, Lauscha, Vetrafond, Czech and Bullseye. Each and every bead is immediately placed into the kiln for annealing, soaking and gradual overnight cooling. This insures that my beads are not only beautiful, they are durable and will last a lifetime. Visit my site - http://krissybeads.com/ Follow me on facebook - https://www.facebook.com/KrissyBeads
