Happy Easter

Easter breakfast at IHOP and a movie, The Croods. I absolutely loved the story line, it snuck up on me when Grug drew his family on the wall. Live for today while cherishing each moment. Follow the sun. Reach for the stars. It made me laugh. It made me cry. A+

Lucky

Today's the big day. Lucky is being neutered this morning. Shhh! Don't tell him. He has no idea what's going on and he can't figure out why we won't feed him. Meow. Meow. Poor guy! It is for the best and it'll be over soon. OXOX

Bead Photography

Why do I have so much trouble with black & white? I was about to pull my hair out photographing Baa Baa Black Sheep 65 times and with different backgrounds. I finally settled on the neutral one. It looks the best, I think. I can't even see straight anymore...lol Ugh... I'm off to make beads where I can relax. :)

Early Birthday Present

Madison's birthday is April 8th and all she wanted was an IPod. So when her friend decided to sell his because he got a new cellphone for his birthday day, of course, she wanted it. So for half the cost of a new one, we bought it for her yesterday. We laid down the rules... She's not allowed to take it to school. She can only play with it after chores, homework and music lesson. So we'll see how fast she gets her responsibilities done today. Oh, I'm sure it'll take her no time at all. Haha

Trivia Night

Dwayne and I attended Trivia Night, a fundraiser for Jordan's baseball team Saturday night. Our useless knowledge sure came in handy. Not that we placed anywhere near the top but we sure had a blast!

So here's one for you...

Who played the professor and who played Maryann on Gilligan's Isle?

Watch the video to see if you're correct. It is hard to see their names from where I was sitting, but you can google it for fun.

Groundhog

It's snowing again and I'd really like to tell you how pretty it is, but it's almost the end of March and we've been under a blanket of snow for 4 months so I just can't bring myself to say anything nice. The groundhog lied!

Books

My best friend of 20+ years, Diana, who lives in Arizona sent me this true crime book written by Ann Rule. Although I usually read biographies, I found these murder cases to be very interesting. The cases that involved children were the toughest to read.

Just recently in Herkimer, NY about 45 minutes away, there was a 64 year old man on a rampage who shot and killed 4 people. The grandson of the man who was killed in the barber shop works with my husband, Dwayne. So very sad. What compels someone to do such a horrific act? Maybe Ann will write about this case one day and we'll find out. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost their loved ones on this tragic day.

Cooking

One of my passions is cooking. I cook a lot, and for St. Patty's Day I cooked corned beef and cabbage for friends and family. It turned out so fantastically delicious, I even impressed myself. Yummy!

Riding to school

Madison was so excited to finally ride her bike to school this morning. Can you see her school in the background? It's just across the street from our house, so she doesn't have far to go. Just around the fence up the street to the high school (Jordan's school) parking lot, then over to the elementary. Not even 2 minutes. The elementary, middle and high school are on the same campus. I'm love village life!

About Me

My photo
Clinton, New York, United States
Welcome to my blog page and thank you so much for stopping by! I'm Krissy Dery mother of three and lampwork artist. I was born and raised in Southern California but moved to Central New York May, 2010 with my loving husband. Creating beads allows me the incredible opportunity to be home with my children for which I'm truly grateful. My glass beads are made by me and me alone at my home studio in historic Clinton, NY. I pride my self on my attention to detail. I love making beads and hope you can see that in each and every bead I create. I use many types of glass: Effetre/Moretti, Lauscha, Vetrafond, Czech and Bullseye. Each and every bead is immediately placed into the kiln for annealing, soaking and gradual overnight cooling. This insures that my beads are not only beautiful, they are durable and will last a lifetime. Visit my site - http://krissybeads.com/ Follow me on facebook - https://www.facebook.com/KrissyBeads
